OUR DIRECTOR'S
COMMENTARY:
With the headlines shouting about the crisis in America's "health
care" system — which is really more a failing SICK care program
— this is the perfect time to inaugurate The G-Jo Institute's
new e-newsletter, "Self-Health!" In the years to come, we'll provide
you many ways to help heal yourself, your loved ones, your students
and patients using free or remarkably low-cost methods ... especially
G-Jo Acupressure.
Self-help and free health care is a new idea for most people.
But for us, at The G-Jo Institute, it's just "business as usual"
... the same as it's been since 1976, when I and several friends
founded this unique organization.
The G-Jo Institute has already grown to thousands of students
and graduates of our programs. And with my many radio and TV broadcasts
over the years, we've reached millions more.
But now, with the rapid growth of the internet and the ease of
e-communications, I believe this growth has only just begun!
FREE HEALTH CARE FOR YOU!
Is "free health care" really possible? You bet it is!
But can you truly heal yourself — then stay well and healthy
— using only the simple means that we've been sharing since our
beginning? In many cases, you surely can!
For example, although I am now well into my seventh decade of
life, I STILL own no health care insurance — other than my own
knowledge (and willingness to use it). I haven't gone to a doctor
since ... well, I can't remember when.
The methods I depend upon are simple, safe and effective as all
get-out. Even better: They can be learned and used by nearly anyone
— even children.
OK, but what about my health? Am I just some sick, old cheapskate,
suffering along obstinately while I try to prove a point? No way!
Today, more than 80% of all adult Americans regularly take at
least one or two medications, statistics tell me. Yet I take none
... and haven't since I was a very young man, long before I learned
the knowledge and skills of healing myself.
I don't even wear glasses. I'm sure this is partly due to the
G-Jo Acupressure eye exercise routine that we give as a gift in
our Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program.
In short, I'm in better over-all health than even most young
people I talk to, today. But this is important for you to know:
I'm no superman — genetically-speaking, I'm as ordinary as the
next guy.
My glowing health comes from one source, alone. It is my willingness
to learn — then to apply — the methods which people have used
for ages to help them heal, then to keep themselves well.
And this can be your story, too — that's The G-Jo Institute's
single purpose: To bring you the means of radiant health ... health
that lasts, without doctors, drugs or surgery.
Each issue we'll highlight one of the body's nearly 200 G-Jo
Acupressure points, and some of its many uses. We'll also feature
other self-help information as well as methods we've shared in
our classes and workshops over the years — techniques which are
safe, easy, free or very low cost, yet which are amazingly effective.
I look forward to being with you in our upcoming issues. If you
have a question, you can reach me at michael@g-jo.com
. But watch out — if it's a good one, I just might share it with
our readers.
And please feel free to share this priceless e-newsletter with
your friends or family members who might also want to live longer,
healthier lives with almost no effort, at all.
Be well!

OTHER FREE E-PUBLICATIONS
FROM THE G-JO INSTITUTE:
Michael Blate, our Executive Director, has written
a revealing commentary on "The Bhagavad-Gita," one of the world's
oldest -- yet still most profound -- spiritual guidebooks. We
send out portions of it freely each week to a special opt-in list
of seekers of timeless wisdom.
"The Bhagavad-Gita" has had hundreds of translations
and millions of readers over the past 5000 years. This remarkable
handbook is a training manual for both spiritual warriors and
spiritual peacemakers -- one that is useful for people of all
faiths and religions.
This is a continuously-revolving presentation, so
even if you begin in the middle of the series, it will eventually
recycle to your starting point. Or you may request we wait to
start you at the beginning of the next cycle, which should take
place around November, 2003.
Please state your preference when you e-subscribe.
If you make no choice, you will begin receiving this posting with
next week's segment. "A Yogi Explains 'The Bhagavad-Gita': Enlightenment
for the New Millennium" is also available in hard copy from us
($34.95 + shipping & handling).
To opt-in, please send an e-mail to office@g-jo.com
with "subscribe gita now" or "subscribe gita later" in the "subject"

AN INTRODUCTION TO YOUR
G-JO POINTS:
G-Jo Acupressure Point Number 1
— this powerful acupuncture site is also known
as
Lung Meridian Point Number 7 (LU-7) or IX
7.
Its Chinese name is "Broken Sequence" (or
"Child Mystery" or "Wrist Taxation" — these translations are taken
from "Grasping The Wind," by Andrew Ellis, Nigel Wiseman and Kenn
Boss; Paradigm Publications).
USES: G-Jo Point Number 1 has nearly 50 uses,
one of it most important being to relieve coughing from colds
and influenza.
LOCATION: On the arm, one and one-half thumbs
above (toward the elbow) the most prominent crease of the wrist,
in line with the thumbnail. This is one of the most difficult
of all G-Jo points to find, but made easier with the illustration
in our Master's Program Reference Manual. To find this on your
LEFT arm, link your hands so that the webbing between the thumb
and pointer finger of either hand are touching and that the index
or pointer finger of the RIGHT hand points along the top of the
left arm toward the elbow. The actual left arm point is now found
beneath the tip of the right index finger, which lies along the
top of the left wrist. Keeping your pointer finger in place, press
the tip of that finger into the wrist and you will feel a small
hollow or depression. G-Jo Point Number 1 is found deep in that
hollow.
Use deep pressure -- up to 15 or 20 lbs.
might be needed to both find and "trigger" this, and some other
G-Jo points. The point itself, once contacted, will feel like
a toothache or pinched nerve -- definitely more tender than the
surrounding flesh.
Finally, trigger (deeply massage) this spot in a
digging, goading way for a few seconds. Again, it should feel
a bit painful.
To complete the process, find and trigger the same
spot on the right arm. For more complete instructions on using
G-Jo, please go to www.g-jo.com/points.html
and take our free "Mini Crash-Course in G-Jo Acupressure."
G-Jo Point #1, and nearly 200 others, are fully
illustrated and described in "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study
Certification Program." Purchase
this low-cost, fully guaranteed program now by going here....
Or you can reach us by regular mail or phone, via
our contact information at the end of this
newsletter.
The G-Jo Institute is approved by The National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing

A WAY OF EATING FOR PLEASURE
AND HEALTH: Each issue, we present a wholesome, nutritious
recipe which our family, friends and guests have enjoyed over
the years at both Falkynor Farm, and more recently, here, at DeerHaven
Hills Farm & Yoga Eco-Center. Today's presentation is:
Andrea's Vegetarian Chili
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 ½ cups chopped celery
1 ½ cups chopped red or green pepper
1 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 28oz cans tomatoes, chopped or
8 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
6 cups red kidney beans
1/4 cup cider or rice vinegar
2 Tbsp. chili powder (more to taste)
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
2 tsp. sea salt
1 ½ tsp. dried or 1 Tbsp. fresh basil
1 tsp. dried or 2 tsp. fresh oregano
1 ½ tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup butter or soy margarine
1 cup textured vegetable protein (soy granules)

and simmer for 1 ½ hours. Serve with rice and a green salad. (Chili
is even better the next day, so prepare ahead, if possible).

KNOW YOUR ORGANS:
THE LUNGS — an overview:
These large sacs located in the chest are our most
direct link and connection (via the nostrils and the throat) with
the outer environment. They are the last organs to develop in
the womb.
The companion organ of the lungs is the large intestine
(colon). Together, this mated team are the "parents" of both skin
and body (not head) hair, and are the organs most easily controlled
by willpower.
That is to say, breathing -- of all the vital bodily
functions -- is most easily "switched" from "automatic" to "manually-controlled."
This makes breath control (e.g., deep, controlled breathing) a
favorite technique for self-therapy.
Several Oriental schools of thought hold that most
disease may be healed through proper control of one's breath (in
conjunction with avoiding abuses, such as smoking, and adding
certain other self-health techniques).
To be continued ...
All the body's major organs and glands, along with their many
functions, are completely described in the Advanced G-Jo section
of "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program."
Please contact us for details.
