OUR DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY:

There has never been a better time for self-health. And even in the early 1970's -- when I began taking full charge of my own health care -- I knew this day would come.

I just didn't think it would take so long.

I clearly remember being a young man with growing children. And it seems like only yesterday, based on how well my body still feels and works, thanks to G-Jo Acupressure and the other self-help methods I've used for decades.

In those days, one adult could work one job and there would usually be enough income to raise, feed and educate an average-sized family. And that even included their health care insurance, too.

But no longer.

A recent e-mail newsletter tells me that, today, more and more employees of large companies (500 or more workers) are going WITHOUT medical insurance. It grew from 7% in 1987 to 11% in 2001.

And in smaller businesses -- 100 or fewer employees -- that figure jumped from 20% in 1987 to 25% in 2001. That's a huge percentage of people to have no medical coverage in the face of soaring sick care costs! (Source: "Early to Rise" -- contact ETR at www.earlytorise.com/SuccessPartnership.htm for their free, very readable daily subscription.)

Who's responsible for this sick-care travesty? Is it sue-happy lawyers, greedy pharmaceutical companies or incompetent doctors? Or is it bad medicines, needless surgery or overworked hospitals?

It really makes no difference. The bottom line is that 15.2% -- that's 43.6 million people, folks -- of all U.S. citizens now lack ANY kind of medical and hospital coverage.

Are you one of these people (or are you likely to become one)? Are you paying your own doctors' bills? Or are you and your family depending on the emergency room for "free" medical care in times of crisis? Or are you simply "doing without," and suffering your way through the problem when illness or injury strike?

If so, you surely need to learn G-Jo Acupressure.

Yes, it's a fact. G-Jo Acupressure can really become a true, healthy alternative to conventional sick-care insurance ... soaring medical costs ... the regular pain and suffering each of us endures ... and even to surgery and hospitalization, in many cases ...

Remember: We haven't always had sick-care insurance. That's only become a big part of the insurance business in the last, half century.

Fortunately, there have always been natural alternatives to "the medical way." However, we in the West have grown up depending on doctors and their medicines to heal us. We do not have nearly as long and rich a history of using other means and methods -- such as G-Jo Acupressure -- as do people in many other cultures.

But throughout the East (where doctors were few and usually charged too much for the poor), families learned long ago how to become their OWN doctors ... or to suffer the consequences. And in the process, they discovered MANY ways of healing and "healthing" themselves, not just one or two.

G-Jo Acupressure was only one of those methods -- safe and easy, of course ... but there are others.

In that light, something even worse than the insurance crisis has ALSO been making headlines: Even if you DO have adequate medical insurance, you're not necessarily safe. The fact is that conventional sick-care -- expensive as it is -- is positively dangerous to your health.

Adverse reactions from doctor-prescribed medications are now the FOURTH leading cause of death! Can you believe it??

Here, again, all but the most serious problems can usually be successfully self-treated by simple, natural methods, such as G-Jo Acupressure. It takes a little learning, of course ...

... and a short time of practice, too, to reach mastery of this ancient healing skill.

The learning part, we can provide. We've been doing that since 1976 and have reached millions of people in the process.

At first, it was just with my book. But we soon learned that even though people might BUY this book, they almost never put it to use!

Let's face it: How many books on your own bookshelf have you only glanced at? I confess that I have DOZENS!

Well, I had no interest in being just another author selling a book. I wanted people to HELP themselves, and for me to be a coach in the process.

So in the early 1990's, we developed and began offering our low-cost Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program. With this unique learning system, now you, too, can go from absolute unfamiliarity to real mastery of G-Jo Acupressure in about one weekend of study.

If you're not already one of our students or a G-Jo Master, do this: Go to www.g-jo.com/points.html and take our free beginner's course in G-Jo Acupressure. You'll learn six, powerful G-Jo pressure points and a few of the many problems you can self-treat with them.

Don't take my word for it -- try it on your own.

Once you feel for yourself the power of G-Jo Acupressure, then go here and place your order for your own Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program. The cost is low. The program is fully guaranteed. You can master this powerful healing art quickly and easily ...

... And in these times of uncertainty, becoming more health self-reliant is one of the best investments in yourself you can ever make. Do it now -- you'll thank yourself many times, over!

NEWS OF INTEREST TO THE NATURAL HEALTH & ALTERNATIVE HEALING COMMUNITY:

We recently had the opportunity to attend another of Gary Scott's always-informative seminars, where the subject of "Natural Awakenings" Magazine was discussed. This is a freely-distributed monthly that targets the more than 100 million Americans who are interested in, or are already using, alternative health and natural healing resources.

Americans are getting both older and smarter about their health care options. If nothing else, they're being forced to. And this magazine is geared toward connecting consumers with providers in the thriving field of alternative healing.

"Natural Awakenings" is "published by franchise" in a growing number of cities and regions. Each issue features news, interviews and many other items from both local healers AND national providers, making it a most unique and valuable publication.

Franchisees are already distributing more than 300,000 copies of the magazine each month, and those numbers are sure to grow as Baby Boomers rush toward their golden years. We foresee a day when "Natural Awakenings" may be THE largest health magazine ever published!

Recent studies have shown this industry will be one of America's largest for several decades to come. If you'd like to profit from its growth, you might want to investigate owning one of these publishing franchises. You could be doing yourself a favor ... and you'll be helping your community immensely!

Contact Gary Scott at gary@garyascott.com for further details.

And here's another interesting note to pass along. If you or an associate are in the weight loss industry and are looking for new customers or clients around the west coast of Florida, listen up.

Our long-time friend and former webmaster, Peter Goldman, still has a few exhibitors' booths open in The Weight Loss Supershow in Tampa, FL -- at the Tampa Convention Center -- June 4-6, 2004. This is an excellent opportunity to reach some of the 57% (!!!) of all Americans who are overweight.

Since obesity grew by a horrendous 60% over the past decade, alone, the demand for weight loss products and services is soaring. Be sure to pass this information along to anyone you know who might benefit from either attending or exhibiting at this one-of-a-kind show. Contact Peter at Green Expositions: (407) 265-2075 or via e-mail at pgoldman@greenexpo.com ...

TESTIMONIAL DU JOUR:

Furthermore, even my personal doctor here in Baton Rouge refers to me as "[doctor]," ...so your wonderful and powerful program is a real Godsend in my opinion! Thank you!" R.D., Baton Rouge, LA

AN INTRODUCTION TO YOUR G-JO POINTS:

G-JO POINT NUMBER 11

MERIDIAN POINT NUMBER: Lung 5 (LU-5) / IX 5

CHINESE NAME: "Cubit (or "Foot-long") Marsh" (this translation is taken from "Grasping The Wind," by Andrew Ellis, Nigel Wiseman and Kenn Boss; Paradigm Publications.)

LOCATION: With your palm facing upward, this point will be found in the hollow of the inner elbow crease in line with the thumb and toward the OUTSIDE (the hairy side) of the arm.

ORGAN(S) THIS POINT AFFECTS: Lungs; kidneys;

ACTION THIS POINT PRODUCES: Sedating (lungs): stimulating (kidneys); balancing (lungs).

USES: This G-Jo point has at least 23 Basic G-Jo uses, one of which is to relieve coughing, especially from allergic reactions (and this is just one of a number of G-Jo Acupressure points for that same use).

INSTRUCTIONS: To find this point upon yourself, first read the instructions. Then, using the TIP of your thumb, begin pressing deeply in the hollow area of the elbow in the front of your arm when your palm is facing forward.

Use moderately deep pressure to both find and "trigger" this G-Jo point. The point itself, once contacted, will feel like a toothache or pinched nerve -- definitely more tender than the surrounding flesh.

Finally, trigger (deeply massage) this spot in a digging, goading way for a few seconds. Again, it should feel a bit painful. Then find and trigger the same spot on the opposite arm. For more complete instructions, go to www.g-jo.com/points.html and take our free beginner's course in G-Jo Acupressure.

G-Jo Point #11, and nearly 200 others, are fully illustrated and described in "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program." Purchase this low-cost, fully guaranteed program now by going here....

Or you can reach us by regular mail or phone, via our contact information at the end of this newsletter.

The G-Jo Institute is approved by The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider. The "Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program" may qualify in your state for up to five C.E.U's (50 hours of study -- see information and statement below).

A WAY OF EATING FOR PLEASURE AND HEALTH: Each issue, we present a wholesome, nutritious recipe which our family, friends and guests have enjoyed over the years at both Falkynor Farm, and more recently, here, at DeerHaven Hills Farm & Yoga Eco-Center.

LENTIL-STUFFED CABBAGE

Serves 8

1 large head cabbage

STUFFING:

2 cups cooked lentils
3 cups cooked BROWN RICE
1 tsp. dried or 1 tbsp. fresh minced basil
3 tbsp. mellow or sweet miso (thinned with 1/4 cup vegetable or lentil stock)
2 tbsp. powdered vegetable broth
1 tsp. paprika or
1/2 sweet red pepper, chopped and sauteed
1/2 onion, chopped and sauteed
1 cup chopped walnuts

Tamari or salt

SAUCE:

1 pint soy sour cream ("freshened" with a bit of lemon juice)
1 cup vegetable stock
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. dill
1 tbsp. tamari

Wash and core the cabbage; place, cored end down, in a large pot and steam until the leaves are tender and can be easily pulled off the head. Cool and separate the leaves; set aside. Combine all the stuffing ingredients in a large bowl and mix well; place a couple of tablespoonsfuls of filling on each leaf toward the stem. Then fold over each side and roll toward the leafy edge. Place the stuffed leaves, seam down, in a large, oiled baking dish. Sprinkle lightly with tamari or salt and set aside. Combine all the sauce ingredients and blend well; pour over the stuffed leaves and bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Serves 8.

Serve with a green leafy vegetable or a mixed salad. Freeze leftovers for a quick meal later.

KNOW YOUR ORGANS:

LUNGS (continued) ...

The most obvious purpose of the lungs is to get oxygen into and carbon dioxide out of the body. But they also serve many other functions, too.

For example, the lungs create and control mucus, a necessary life substance. This is why it is said that milk and milk products affect -- and for most people, abuse -- the lungs and colon. Milk and its products (especially cheese) frequently create excessive mucus and cause lung congestion.

Some other lung "children" and functions include:

  • Teeth -- these are actually considered to be children of the colon. But as the colon is the "wife" of the lungs, teeth are thus also children of the lungs. Dental caries (cavities) are said to be caused by an imbalance between the "father" (lungs) and the "mother" (colon) ...
  • Skin and skin disorders involve the lungs, at least partially ...
  • Internal temperature protection and regulation is closely related to air and thus to the lungs ...
  • Perspiration and elimination of other fluids are also directly or indirectly related to lung activities ...

All the body's major organs and glands, along with their many functions, are completely described in the Advanced G-Jo section of "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program." Please contact us for details.
