OUR DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY:

If you're a regular reader of this publication, you already know that G-Jo Acupressure has been my own "health care insurance" since the early 1970's. Sure, there have been plenty of times when I experienced pain and suffering ...

... human bodies are like that. Even the healthiest of them encounters aches, pains and other health problems, every now and then. And mine is certainly no exception.

But between G-Jo Acupressure and the other simple methods we've been teaching since 1976, I've been "health self-reliant" for many years. Indeed, I can't remember the last time I went to a doctor.

So especially if you're one of the growing legion of people with little or no medical coverage, take heart! There are MANY alternatives to doctors, medicines, surgery and such.

Of course, I believe the first and best step you can take is to learn G-Jo Acupressure. One, small investment in time and money can save you (and those who depend on you) countless hours of suffering ... thousands of dollars in needless expense ... and can maybe even save your life (or the life of a loved one), in the process, as well.

Actually, the time for "self-health" has never been better, no matter HOW much sick-care coverage you may presently have. Traditional sick care -- that is, with the prescription drugs and surgery most of us have grown up accepting as necessary -- is a dying dinosaur.

There's simply no other way to say it.

In earlier issues, I have written that "ADR's" -- adverse drug reactions (which often come from several prescription medications interacting with one another and causing internal, biochemical chaos) -- are a leading cause of death. This has been widely reported in the mainstream media, as well.

But now we learn that prescription drugs and doctors may be the LEADING cause of death in the U.S.!

This horrifying news was recently revealed in Dr. Joe Mercola's excellent e-newsletter -- the source of much of my health news (see http://mercola.com/2003/jan/15/doctors_drugs.htm ). This vital study was done by one Dr. Starfield, a professor of Public Health at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the USA, Johns Hopkins.

So it should also come as no surprise that 30% to 40% of practicing physicians would NOT choose to enter the medical profession, again, if they were deciding on a career. And an even higher percentage would not encourage their children to pursue a medical career (see http://mercola.com/2004/jan/21/doctors_happy.htm ).

This doesn't paint a pretty picture, at all.

Soaring sick-care insurance costs (as well as horrendous insurance costs that physicians face) ... dissatisfied doctors and other sick-care professionals ... dangerous drugs interacting badly with other potentially-deadly medicines ...

... now combine those with the fact that the US is currently spending about $1.5 trillion for "health" care -- and the projections show this figure will double in less than a decade (see http://mercola.com/2002/mar/30/health_spending.htm ) ...

... anyway, do you see my point? This is a dying colossus!

Like it or not, you're going to HAVE to become more responsible for your own healing and health maintenance. Either that, or you must plan on facing a LOT more suffering in the years ahead.

I don't mean to be an alarmist -- those are just facts. The bright side is that there are MANY easy things you can do to "health yourself" ... or even to become your own doctor, if you choose to!

I've been my own doctor for decades!

G-Jo Acupressure is just one of these methods. And there are other groups or individuals offering techniques such as reflexology ... the use of magnets for healing ... and many other safe, effective means to help you by-pass doctors, drugs and surgery.

Start checking them out by doing searches on the web -- you'll be surprised at what's out there!

And I hope you realize that it's not an "either-or" type of thing. Just because you use one or more of these alternative methods, doesn't mean you're turning your back on the more conventional methods.

In fact, we always suggest that you try G-Jo (or other simple methods) first. Then, if that or those don't work to your satisfaction, take the next, logical step -- visit your doctor or other health care professional.

It's hard to get into trouble helping and "healthing" yourself ... especially if you follow that simple rule. Be well!

NEWS:

Whether or not you eat organically, there is a powerful, new organization which is acting as an important consumers' rights advocacy group. And you should join it. This is the Organic Consumers Association (OCA -- http://organicconsumers.org/) and its goal is to build an activist network of thousands of health-conscious consumers in each Congressional District.

OCA has many projects it is working on. One major, current project is its involvement in petitioning mega-giant Kraft Foods to avoid putting genetically-engineered (GE) wheat and other foods into its pre-packaged products.

GE foods ("frankenfoods") represent one of the greatest threats to our precious food supply. The seeds which grow them are patented, cannot be regrown (seed-saving is essential to nearly 2/3 of the world) and, in most cases, their health consequences are unknown.

Other targets of OCA's efforts are Monsanto Chemical (which is essentially trying to patent all the world's food seeds), fraudulent organic labels and many other issues.

E-mail activism has become an important way for "The Little Guy" to quickly and easily be heard in Congress. We urge you to become involved in this free, easy way to help protect your cherished freedoms and human rights. Become involved NOW! Here is one website where you can take immediate action to protest this growing travesty: www.gefoodalert.org/takeaction/invite.cfm ...

TESTIMONIAL DU JOUR:

"I was diagnosed with a severely herniated disk in my neck two months ago after an accident while I was practicing martial arts. I couldn't lay flat on my back or move my right arm without excruciating pain. I was told I would almost definitely have to undergo surgery in order to be able to just "live with" the injury. Well, to make a long story short, I'm now completely without pain and have returned to my active lifestyle without the need for surgery or even any pain medication ... effects I believe could not have been possible without applying the knowledge I've gained through the study and practice of G-Jo."

Are you a spiritual seeker yearning to discover the Highest Secrets of life? It is said that these will be found in "The Bhagavad-Gita" -- a 5,000 year old guidebook that is the basis of "Spiritual Yoga."

Spiritual yoga is not a religion, but a science -- a science of knowledge, mind-upliftment and action. It has nothing to do with exercise, but is the underlying basis of the yoga classes which have become so popular lately.

"The Bhagavad-Gita" has had hundreds of translations and millions of readers over the past, five millennia. This remarkable handbook is a training manual for both spiritual warriors and spiritual peacemakers -- one that is useful for people of all faiths and religions.

It is nothing less than a roadmap to life's ultimate purpose.

Michael Blate, our Executive Director, has written a revealing commentary on "The Bhagavad-Gita" and we send out portions of it freely each week to a special opt-in list of seekers of wisdom. To opt-in, yourself, please send an e-mail to office@g-jo.com with "subscribe gita" in the "subject" line.

This is a continuously-revolving presentation, so even if you begin in the middle of the series, it will eventually recycle to your starting point.

AN INTRODUCTION TO YOUR G-JO POINTS:

G-JO POINT NUMBER 12
* Lung 11 (LU-11) / IX 11 / "Lesser Shang" (or "Ghost Sincerity" -- this translation is taken from "Grasping The Wind," by Andrew Ellis, Nigel Wiseman and Kenn Boss; Paradigm Publications).

LOCATION: Between the top of the nail and the first joint of the thumb, just behind the "outside" corner of the nail (that is, on the side of the thumb farthest from the other fingers).

USES: This G-Jo point has at least 25 Basic G-Jo uses, two of which are to relieve a sore throat (and this is also just one of a number of G-Jo Acupressure points for that, same use) and another is for relief of sinus headache.

INSTRUCTIONS: To find this point upon yourself, first read the instructions. Then, using the front edge of the other thumbnail, the bent knuckle of the opposite index (or pointer) finger -- or even the eraser tip of a pencil -- begin pressing the approximate location just behind the corner of the thumbnail furthest from the other fingers. Hint: If you are suffering from a symptom this G-Jo point might control, there may be a tiny, red dot of inflammation at this site -- perhaps about the size of a pin-head.

Use deep pressure -- up to 15 or 20 lbs. might be needed to both to find and "trigger" some G-Jo points. But use less pressure if using the thumbnail to probe and trigger -- don't break the skin (or if you do, please put an antiseptic solution on the wound immediately).

The point itself, once contacted, will normally be quite tender ... particularly if it is a good one for the target symptom.

Finally, trigger (deeply massage) this spot in a digging, goading way for a few seconds. Again, if using the opposite thumbnail edge, just use less pressure.

Remember: The point should feel a bit painful. Then find and trigger the same spot on the opposite thumb. For more complete instructions, go to www.g-jo.com/points.html and take our free beginner's course in G-Jo Acupressure.

G-Jo Point #12, and nearly 200 others, are fully illustrated and described in "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program." Purchase this low-cost, fully guaranteed program now by going here....

KNOW YOUR ORGANS:

LUNGS (continued) ...

As explained in earlier issues of this publication, there are six teams of organs and glandular /organ functions in traditional acupressure theory. Each team has an associated bodily sense as one of its children.

In the case of the lung/colon team, this is the sense of smell. Poor ability to smell -- or smelling odors which are not actually present -- may indicate a malfunction within the lung/colon team.

Furthermore, each team has a number of ways of releasing stress in an attempt to balance itself before it begins manifesting symptoms of dis-ease. In the case of the lung team, one such "relief-valve" function may occur through weeping, sobbing, wailing or lamenting.

This crying should not be confused with "tears of anger," however. Being so angry that one bursts into tears (as often happens with children) is considered to be a liver/gall-bladder response.

Another way of lung/colon "cleansing" (balancing) is through coughing, as well as by normal speaking. On the other hand, shouting -- or having a "shout" quality in one's natural voice, even when speaking normally -- is again usually associated with the liver and gallbladder being in distress. And speaking rapidly and excessively is said to be related to the heart team of organs.

Still ANOTHER way of stimulating the lung team is by the consumption of spicy, pungent foods. But be warned: if spicy foods or drinks are taken to excess, they may actually INJURE the lungs and colon.

With all "taste therapy" (that is, eating a certain type of food taste to help stimulate or sedate a specific organ or gland), the key is "moderation." In short, that which heals in moderation, injures in excess.

And it is not just the pungent, spicy taste which affects the lungs and colon. The taste of bitterness to excess may also injure the lung/colon team, as well, even though the bitter taste is primarily associated with the heart and small intestine team of organs.

Healthy lungs are indicated by good "animal drive," quick perception, a well-developed desire for survival, strong willpower and plenty of "guts" (willingness to take a stand and fight, if necessary), as well as by adequate breathing, and the other, above-mentioned qualities.

All the body's major organs and glands, along with their many functions, are completely described in the Advanced G-Jo section of "The Master of G-Jo Acupressure Home-Study Certification Program." Please contact us for details.
