...As
I approached the situation, it looked bad. My son was standing with
his hands against his "brand new" World War II Jeep -- the jalopy I'd
just bought him for his 17th birthday. The neighbor -- a big man, weighing
nearly 300 pounds -- was pacing back and forth beside his own truck,
glaring at my son. His face was red with rage!
Extending
from his hand was a brown paper bag in which I could indeed see the
handle of a pistol
there was no doubt: This guy was nuts!
"What's
the problem?," I asked him, softly and gently, as I walked to within
speaking distance. The neighbor began shouting almost babbling
about my son driving his Jeep through the man's orange grove
messing up his irrigation ditches knocking fruit off the
trees ...
...
I stood feeling neither fear nor confusion
and recalled an old samurai "calming and disarming" technique.
As
he rattled on, I appeared to be listening carefully. But what I was
really doing was something much different I
was mentally "projecting energy" from the center of my forehead ...
"moving" it downward from his face to his feet, time and again.
As I did
this, his voice became more calm. Soon, he stopped pacing. He leaned
against the door of his truck and finally put the bag and his pistol
inside his open window, onto the seat the crisis had passed!
This
simple calming technique is a trick that a few advanced martial artists
might be able to teach you, but ...
what almost
nobody can show you is how to achieve that clear and
fearless state of mind when you really
need it to harness the power of "projecting energy" ... or
calling forth other great powers now lying hidden within you!
On the
other hand, without that special state of mind
the mind of an Enlightened Master ...... these extraordinary
powers will always lie dormant and useless!
In fact,
let me go one step further...
